Program Overview

YIP’s Board Prep Program is a leadership development program designed to prepare young professionals for non-profit board service. Fall Session runs from 9/16 to 11/11.

The Fall 2026 application is now open until September 1st.

This comprehensive program is facilitated by Philadelphia-based experts who are well-versed in nonprofit board governance. During this intensive training program, we will introduce the key components of thoughtful, engaged, and dedicated board service. We will also hear from currently serving board members. At the end of the program, we will provide an opportunity for participants to connect with Greater Philadelphia area non-profit organizations seeking board members, committee members, and volunteers.

Young professionals seeking to learn more about non-profit board governance, join a non-profit board, or who already serve on a nonprofit board are all welcome to participate. Graduates of YIP’s Board Prep Program will join a vibrant, diverse, and deeply engaged community of alums working hard to make Philadelphia the best city in the world.

Our Board Prep Program prepares young professionals for thoughtful, engaged, and dedicated board service. If your nonprofit organization is looking for a board candidate with the skills and knowledge to make an impact, please email boardprep@yiphilly.org to tell us about your organization and open board positions. We love connecting organizations with our amazing network of students and program alumni.

For organizations interested in recruiting during our Spring Graduation on November 11th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm; please fill out this form, and we will add you to the organization list: Fall Applications will open 9/16.
