Summer Jam 2012 Recap

Summer Jam 2012 was an amazing event. Over 100 music lovers, YIP supporters, and Philadelphia-enthusiasts gathered at North Shore Beach Club to kick off the summer season in style. Some of Philadelphia’s hottest up and coming acts helped to set a fun and festive atmosphere on a picture-perfect Saturday evening. Guests mixed and mingled, swam, and genuinely experienced a great time.

In only its second year, YIP’s annual Summer Jam was even more well received than in 2011 — where 80 people bought tickets. This year, nearly 120 people — including pre-event sales and day-of walk-ups — joined the celebration! Summer Jam 2012 was special because it brought like-minded people together who represent YIP’s core goals to: highlight Philadelphia and its residents who contribute to making the city a special place, empower young Philadelphians to collaborate and make a positive difference, and also enjoy social events that contribute to doing social good.

Many people helped to make Summer Jam 2012 an extremely successful event. YIP would like to officially acknowledge and thank those who made this event possible — including: Conversations With Enemies, First Person Arts Storytelling, Free Agents, MIRK, and Swift Technique; Cassie Hepler for taking terrific photos that captured the spirit of the event; Anna Stormer and Jason Wolfson for donating art for auction and raffle prizes; YIP members for organizing and producing the event; and North Shore Beach Club. But the most important people who deserve thanks is you – supporters of YIP. Whether you bought art, entered a raffle, or only bought an entrance ticket — you helped contribute to a fantastic event that raised enough money to create even more dynamic YIP events. Ultimately, the reason YIP is successful is because of people like you who pitch in and lend your talent, support, and skills to help positively impact Philadelphia.

Looking forward, Summer Jam 2012 promises to be an unbelievale experience and we can’t wait to see you there! Next on deck is the State of Young Philadelphia in Fall 2012 — an annual forum series that brings together young adults and the mover and shakers in Philadelphia to foster education, interaction, and provide a platform for the voice of young Philadelphia.

Thanks for helping to make Summer Jam a great event — your support is just one of the many reason why we love Philly!
