The Board Prep Program is a comprehensive training program for young professionals who are interested in serving on non-profit boards. The program teaches participants how to leverage their leadership skills more effectively and how to become an effective board member.
The Board Prep Program is run by Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP), which increases civic engagement and builds relationships to connect and represent young Philadelphians. YIP strives to make Philadelphia the premier city for the next generation of leaders. The Board Prep Program is one of YIP’s ongoing programs to increase the leadership role the young professionals in the non-profit sector.
In addition to the content-rich class sessions, the program also features a case study and matching event, which allows participants to engage more deeply with a non-profit board of their choice and exposes them to new board opportunities. YIP has developed relations with dozens of non-profit boards in the Philadelphia area, and leverages these connections to ensure participants achieve an experience that is customized to their customized to meet their unique interests.
